Default Question about dvd rips???

Do dvd rips have to be converted to vob files (like using super dvd creator) or can they automatically be used in dvd shrink or nero without having to convert the file? May be a dumb question but I still wanna ask...

well it depends on what the file is being used for

are you talking about you ripping a dvd to have on your computer or to upload, then it should be converted to avi format. If you are looking to burn a downloaded avi file for your standard home dvd player then you will likely have to convert it to vob. But if you have a divx player you don't need to convert anything and you can fit like 5 movies (4.4gigs worth) on one disk in avi file.

what are you trying to do?

also this question belongs in the computer help section

My bad man i've been stuck in the bootleg section since I joined this site but anyways yea im tryin to burn movies and music videos and I use super dvd creator 9.2 and usually I just download the file then convert it to vob files which takes forever. I guess my question was if I download a dvd rip of a movie do I have to use super dvd creator or can it be burned thru Nero automatically? I do have the latest version of the divx player so does that mean after I download I can just burn it or what? Sorry if its confusing.
